The Armed Forces Support Group ( AFSG) based at Barrowford, are to start expanding their operations.
Clearly out in the surround areas of Nelson, Brierfield, and Barrowford, are lots of serving and ex serving members of the armed forces and families, some could well use the welfare contacts we have or simply come and enjoy the commmeraderie we share, so he plan is to try and visit and put out the new photo display we have of all the things we get up to, from school visits to serious forces mental health issues in conjunction with the NHS and other organisations.
WE will be approaching the villages around the area, and their social committee groups for the opportunity to make a presentation to them, and of course any other interested groups.
The opener was at a coffee morning in Foulridge organised by Cllr Kevin Salter himself an AFSG member, and AFSG Chairman Michael Sutcliff was on hand to tell the gathered ladies and Gentlemen all about what we do or try to do, and present the photo gallery.
