Retirement of Commodore Phil Waterhouse

At the recent Lord Lieutenants Award evening held at Lancaster Town Hall 13th July, attended by Peter Clegg and Mike Sutcliff of the Armed Forces Support Group (AFSG) this is an annual event where the Local Cadets, reserve armed Forces personal, are recognized for usually going the extra mile, and now includes local businesses who are signing up too and getting Bronze or silver awards for their efforts in supporting the Armed Forces Covenant. The AFSG team were supporting Northern Estates Services  Ltd  from Barrowford, who were receiving a Silver award, AFSG team were there supporting them and Peter Clegg was to receieve an award on their behalf.
Sadly for all who attended Lord Shuttleworth announced after 26 years he is stepping down as Lord Lt. and will be sadly missed by all of us on the military side of life, he has been a huge support.
And for two Royal Navy men our local boss is also retiring Commodore Phil Waterhouse Royal Navy  has been Navy Commander Northern England, based at HMS Eaglet in Liverpool for the past few years, and retires in 3 weeks, Mike and Peter caught up with him to say job well done Sir, and we of the seafaring fraternity, wish him and his family well.
