D Day at St Thomas’s Church Barrowford
Barrowford based Armed Forces Support Group along with St Thomas,s Church Barrowford, conducted a D-Day commemoration service Led by Father Paul Payton on Sunday the 9th of June.
The event was also supported by the Fire Service, Air and Sea Cadets local Police and Police Cadets, and Barrowford Scout Group, and the church congregation, Deputy Lord Lieutenant Mrs Christiana Buchanan read the lesson, Andrew Stephenson recited a poem, Michael Sutcliff recounted the experiences of 3 D Day landing veterans (sadly no longer with us) and 2 young Scouts read out their own poems …
