PROPOSALS TO MAKE IT COMPULSORY FOR BIRD KEEPERS IN GREAT BRITIAN TO REGISTER THEIR BIRDS

It’s vital we tackle the threat of #BirdFlu.
Right now, only keepers with 50 poultry or more are required to record details of their flock.
We’re proposing new rules that would either mean all bird keepers need to register their birds or for keepers who own over 10 birds.
This would include owners of pet birds, backyard flocks, birds of prey, and pigeon fanciers.
Also, should bird keepers keep the poultry register up to date every year?
It will help us reach keepers quicker, protect flocks and help stop the spread.
