THREE CASES OF AVIAN INFLUENZA CONFIRMED IN NORFOLK & YORKSHIRE

Following official testing, three further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed. Please check GOV.UK for the latest information about the following cases:

  • At a premises near Dereham, Mid Norfolk, Norfolk.
  • At a second premises near Watton, Mid Norfolk, Norfolk (this was the slaughter on suspicion case initially declared on 09 December 2024).
  • At a premises near Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire.

3km Protection Zones and 10km Surveillance Zones have been put in place around each premises. The Temporary Control Zones around the second premises near Watton in Mid Norfolk have been replaced by a Protection Zone and Surveillance Zone.
