In response to the increased avian influenza risk, an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity will be introduced across Wales as of 00:01 30 January 2025.
This means all bird keepers in Wales must, from this date, implement the stringent biosecurity measures required to protect poultry & captive birds.
All bird keepers in Wales are also required to complete the mandatory biosecurity self-assessment checklist.
An AIPZ is also in place across England and Scotland with mandatory housing in parts of England.
All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow these stringent biosecurity measures to prevent future outbreaks.
Check the avian influenza interactive map to see where all restrictions are in place.
