3KM & 10KM TEMPORARY CONTROL ZONES PUT IN PLACE NEAR WOODBRIDGE, EAST SUFFOLK

Following the suspicion of highly pathogenic avian influenza with rapidly increasing mortality in commercial poultry at a premises near Woodbridge, East Suffolk, Suffolk, 3km and 10km temporary control zones (TCZs) have been put in place pending further testing.

The birds on the suspect premises will be humanely culled. All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures to prevent future outbreaks.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain.

All bird keepers must follow the stringent biosecurity measures in addition to following any Protection/Surveillance Zone in their area to prevent future outbreaks.
