Four further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed. Further information about the following cases is available on GOV.UK and GOV.WALES:

  • a second premises near Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire
  • a premises near Ormesby St Margaret, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
  • a premises near Uckfield, Wealden, East Sussex
  • a premises near Swineshead, Boston, Lincolnshire.

A 3km Protection Zone and a 10km Surveillance Zone have been put in place around each premises.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is now in place across areas of England and an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain.

All bird keepers must follow stringent biosecurity measures, any regional housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area to prevent future outbreaks.
