TWO FURTHER CASES OF H5N1 CONFIRMED - CORBY GLEN,LINCOLNSHIRE & PREESALL,LANCASHIRE

Two further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed. Various restrictions are now in place around these premises. Please check GOV.UK for further information about the following cases:

  • a small commercial poultry flock near Corby Glen, South Kesteven, Lincolnshire
  • in captive birds near Preesall, Wyre, Lancashire.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is now in place across areas of England and will be extended to the whole of England from 00:01 Thursday 06 November and an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain.

All bird keepers must follow stringent biosecurity measures, any regional housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area to prevent future outbreaks.
