TWO FURTHER CASES OF H5N1 CONFIRMED - WOODBRIDGE,SUFFOLK & LANARK. BOTH COMMERCIAL POULTRY PREMISES

Two further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed as follows:

  • at a large commercial poultry premises near Woodbridge, East Suffolk, Suffolk.
  • at a large commercial poultry premises near Lanark, Lanarkshire.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone are in place around each premises. Please check GOV.UK and GOV.SCOT for further information.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is now in place in England and an AIPZ with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain.

All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures as detailed on GOV.UK and GOV.SCOT and follow the housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area that apply to prevent future outbreaks.
