TWO FURTHER CAES OF H5N1 CONFIRMED - 4TH PREMISES NEAR MILFORD HAVEN, PEMBROKESHIRE & SMALL FLOCK NEAR LAWSHALL, SUFFOLK

Two further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed. A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone has been put in place around each premises. Please check GOV.Wales and GOV.UK for information about the following cases:

  • a fourth premises near Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire
  • a small backyard flock of poultry near Lawshall, Babergh, Suffolk.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is in place in England and Wales. All bird keepers must remain vigilant & follow the stringent AIPZ mandatory biosecurity measures, which are also in force across Great Britain, in addition to following any Protection or Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area.

All keepers of poultry and captive birds in Wales are also required to complete the mandatory biosecurity checklist.
