TWO FURTHER CASES OF H5N1 CONFIRMED - 2ND PREMISES NEAR SWAFFHAM,NORFOLK & NEAR GAINSBOROUGH, LINCOLNSHIRE

Two further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed. A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone has been put in place around each premises. Please check GOV.UK for information about the following cases in large commercial poultry premises:

  • a second premises near Swaffham, Breckland, Norfolk
  • near Gainsborough, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is in place in England and Wales. All bird keepers must remain vigilant & follow the stringent AIPZ mandatory biosecurity measures, which are also in force across Great Britain, in addition to following any Protection or Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area.
