TWO FURTHER CASES OF H5N1 CONFIRMED IN LARGE COMMERCIAL PREMISES - NEAR MUNDFORD,NORFOLK & LYDD, KENT

Two further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed in large commercial poultry premises:

  • near Mundford, Breckland, Norfolk
  • near Lydd, Folkstone and Hythe, Kent.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone have been put in place around each premises. Please check GOV.UK for more information.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is in place in England and Wales. All bird keepers must remain vigilant and follow the stringent AIPZ mandatory biosecurity measures, which are also in force across Great Britain, in addition to following any Protection or Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area.
