Following official testing, highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 has been confirmed at a premises near Newark-on-Trent, Newark and Sherwood, Nottinghamshire.

The 3km Temporary Control Zone and 10km Temporary Control Zone have been revoked and replaced with a 3km Protection Zone and a 10km Surveillance Zone.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is now in place across areas of England and an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain.

All bird keepers must follow stringent biosecurity measures, any regional housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area to prevent future outbreaks.
